Ended up stopping by here on my lunch break for an afternoon caf to reenergize. They have a ton of options of food, baked goods, and coffee though I only had an iced coffee. Now to spice things up I added lavender syrup which added a nice floral touch. The prices here are also pretty good so I'll definitely be back. Love how receptive the staff were to giving me reccs as well. This is a solid cafe and I will definitely be back.

Farley's East has become a neighborhood staple, offering good coffee and unique lattes, as well as tasty coffee shop bites. Every blue moon they also host a reservation-only supper club with rotating menus and lots of fun (:

Farley's East, a coffeehouse in the Uptown district of Oakland, mission is to create comfortable space with exceptional coffee and food where people can connect, create, contemplate and build community. Featuring locally roasted coffee, pastries and treats, fresh Panini, salads and beer and wine, Farley's East is a spot for all occasions. Recently thanks to a friend, I had the opportunity to try a sandwich and cookie from Farley's. I've heard about this Uptown coffee shop that serves great coffee and as well as sandwiches, paninis, salads, soups and pastries. My lunch box had a Hoagie Sandwich, which consisted of Zoe's artisan ham, salami, herb aioli, mozzarella, pepperoncini-olive spread, marinated onions, tomato and arugula on ciabatta bread. The sandwich was delicious. It had a generous amount of ham and salami and the herb aioli and pepperoncini-olive spread was a perfect complement. I also had a chocolate chip cookie in the box. It was different than the typical denser style cookie, as it was thick but not dense, with a soft chewy texture. As a nice complementary taste, it was topped with some sea salt. Would like to visit Farley's in the near future to try the coffee and other food offerings.
